KENNY HARRIS, NEW PAINTINGS
November 15, 2024 – January 5, 2011
Art Exhibitions
Gallery C is pleased to present NEW PAINTINGS
and artwork by Kenny Harris. With an emphasis on a sublime realism that stays
current on the conceptual concerns of contemporary art, Harris’ paintings
are poetic interludes on our current condition subsumed in the
beauty of the pregnant pause.
For this art consultant organized show, Harris has painted what
appear to be random, unpopulated interiors based on photos
he took last year while traveling to South America, and yet
the paintings bear no culturally specific attributes – they are universal experiences of
personal intimacy. Harris paints the rooms in which you may have
been, traveled through or glimpsed, yet empty, ready to be viewed
or ignored, stark and majestic all in the sweep of an eye or
in the daylong meditation of one’s gaze. Some of Harris’ realistic
oil on canvas wonders span over six feet wide and four feet high.
